Level 9 transforms the battlefield into an unstable energy zone where nothing stays permanent. Unlike earlier stages, players cannot dominate the board through accumulation. Every action causes the arena to react, decay, and reset itself in unexpected ways.
In this level, players are limited to controlling only two active energy nodes at any time. When a third node is placed, the oldest one instantly dissolves, reopening that position on the arena.
The arena itself is alive. After every five total moves, a powerful decay pulse is triggered that forcibly clears the center energy node if it is occupied.
Because pieces vanish over time, planning several moves ahead becomes risky. Players must adapt quickly, focusing on timing rather than territory ownership.
Turns switch immediately after each valid move. There are no timers or power buttons in this level, keeping the focus entirely on spatial awareness and prediction.
Victory is achieved by aligning three energy nodes in a valid pattern. Even with disappearing nodes, the system continuously checks for winning combinations after every move.
If the arena becomes fully occupied with no valid energy alignment possible, the match concludes as a draw. A distinct audio signal marks this outcome.
This stage removes predictability. With disappearing energy, forced decay, and limited control, Level 9 feels closer to a duel against the arena itself rather than just another player.
Can a player keep more than two nodes?
No. The system automatically removes older nodes.
Is the decay random?
No. It always targets the center node after fixed intervals.
Does decay cancel a win?
No. Winning combinations are checked before decay effects.
Is this the final stage?
No. Level 9 prepares players for the ultimate challenge.
